Introduction:
Design, construct, test, and commission a 220 kV Double circuit electrical transmission system to deliver power from the Chemtala ss along to Tarakhail new 220KV ss Kabul City.
Project Overview:
The project will construct a 220-kV transmission line about 23 km long across the Chemtala Substation to the Tarakhel Substation Kabul. The project will add up to 440 KV. The new line will transmit electricity produced domestically by hydropower and fossil fuel generation in the country’s northern region to supply Afghanistan’s domestic needs.
The Project is ranked as the top priority in Afghanistan Power Sector Masterplan (2012-32) as well as in the National Energy Supply Program (NESP) of the Government of Afghanistan.
